The Guardian Personnel Story

Guardian Personnel was started in 1980 by Helen and Al Van Zutphen.   CEO Trent Van Zutphen, son of the founders was born in 1987.  All of Trent’s life was spent around the firm that his parents started.  He vividly remembers all the dinner table discussions about the business.   Guardian was not just a business it was a passion for the Van Zutphens.  Helen was the primary operator of the company for almost 35 years.  She has been recognized numerous times for her outstanding work as an entrepreneur and businesswoman.   Although she appreciates the recognition, her primary focus has always been to provide an integrity driven, high quality service that would benefit the province of Alberta.

As the new leader of Guardian, Trent is determined to continue to build on these foundational values.  He recognizes that Guardian’s 40 plus years of success is rooted in these practices.  The ebb and flow of the economy never jeopardized the business because it had a strong reputation for providing outstanding serve without cutting corners. Trent sees this catapulting Guardian into the next phase of its existence.

Focusing on using advancements in HR tools and other business and social technologies, Trent sees the future as bright for Guardian.  Although he has vast knowledge of the industry, Trent invest heavily in studying current economic and job trends.  He has made investments in resources that will allow Guardian to provide better serves for job seekers and businesses looking for employees.   His goal is to  continue to elevate Guardian’s reputation as Alberta’s leader in the recruitment by providing more technologically advanced service.   This results in more efficiency, which saves companies money and provide more successful placements.
